Mrs Callie Fox
Buds Teacher Mon-Wed
Mrs Charlotte Buckingham
Buds Teacher Thurs and Fri from January
Welcome to the Y2 Buds!
The class teachers are Mrs Fox and Mrs Buckingham; Mrs Fox teaches on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Buckingham teaches on Thursday and Friday all day. We are lucky to have Mrs Davis every morning in our classroom as our Teaching Assistant.
In Buds, we create a positive and enjoyable learning environment through stimulating and creative topics. We encourage the children to be independent learners by using their learning powers and follow the school ethos of 'Caring and Learning together'.
Each half term we focus our learning through a different topic, which starts with an exciting launch lesson to immerse our children in the theme.
This term, we will be learning all about the story of the 'Town Mouse and the Country Mouse.' There is a particular focus on science in this topic where we will be learning all about different habitats that animals live in. We will also be exploring human habitats by looking at where people live within the UK. As well as this we will be having lots of fun in creative arts thinking about city and country sounds and sights!
In English we will be writing non-chronological reports about animals and then a character description.
Our first whole class text is 'The Owl who was afraid of the dark'.
We hope that you received the homework letter and can't wait to see what the children have decided to research about. The letter can be found at the bottom of this page if you have misplaced it.
Please remember that our classroom is open on Fridays for you to pop in and read or complete am activity with your child.
