P.E.premium action plan
PE and Sport is an essential part of everyday life at our School. We build upon the statutory two hours PE time, by providing opportunities inside and outside school to extend the time children are physically active e.g. Wake and shake and Mile a day.
We are fortunate enough to have extensive outdoor space, a hall and a the recreation field to keep all children physically active. There is also a wide variety of equipment for different sports, that can be used during lessons, playtime/lunchtime and after school.
Our vision for PE at Chacewater School is:
o High quality teaching and learning across the school in all sports and physical activities.
o Larger numbers of children take part in extra-curricular sports clubs and represent the school at festivals, matches and performances.
o Children have experience of a wider range of physical activities.
o Children have a good understanding of health and fitness and strive to improve this.
o Children are willing to try new things to get them active and learn to be good team players.
We work in conjunction with professional and local clubs to supplement the expertise that our staff have. This includes Lauren Syrett, a professional dance coach, the Cornish Pirates, Plymouth Argyle and Chacewater Bowls club - All children in UKS2 receive bowls lesson for half a term as part of the curriculum.
